Giving punishment in the learning process has the implication that students are recognized as unique individuals who have certain abilities that can be respected. If students receive punishment from the teacher, it will indicate that their abilities are different but in a less positive direction. This research uses qualitative methods with an indigenous psychology approach. There were 202 respondents with the criteria of class x students who had academic or non-academic achievements, who answered open ended questions. The results of this research were analyzed using analytical techniques from Primasari & Yuniarti, 2012. The results of this research found that the punishment that was most disliked by high achieving students in class X was individual punishment with 62% of participants answering in this category. In terms of individual punishment, administrative punishment is the punishment that is most disliked by class Personal impacts such as being tiring are the biggest reasons why students in class X who excel do not like the punishment given.
