Abstract

Independence is an important factor in learning because it helps students achieve success and achievement. Students who lack independence in learning often have difficulty taking responsibility during the learning process, which can trigger negative behavior such as waiting for teacher instructions to complete assignments, cheating, and often being late in submitting assignments. The right solution is to provide guidance and direction through the habit of self-management in learning, namely by applying learning self-management techniques. The type of research used is pre-experimental research with a one group pre test-post test design. In this design, an initial test (pre-test) is given before treatment, and a final test (post-test) is given after treatment. The sample in this research was all 65 class VII students. The results of this research indicate that the application of self-management techniques is effective in increasing student learning independence. This is evident from the pre-test data before treatment which shows an average of 43.60 (low category) and post-test data after treatment which shows an average of 54.00 (medium category). A significant increase from the low category to the medium category shows that the treatment has had a positive impact.
