Abstract

This study aims to see the contribution between organizational-based self-esteem and work engagement in civil servants at the Balai Diklat Keagamaan Padang. The research method used is quantitative with survey method. The sample consisted of 58 respondents who were civil servants at the Balai Diklat Keagamaan Padang taken from the population based on total saturated sampling. Data collection utilizes the organizational-based self-esteem scale which is compiled based on the aspects described by Pierce and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) compiled by Schaufelli and adapted to the Indonesian language. Simple linear regression analysis test was used as the research data analysis. The results prove that organizational-based self-esteem and work engagement contribute positively with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05. The level of organizational-based self-esteem and work engagement is in the high category with an influence coefficient of 36% and 67% is influenced by other variables not studied. Understanding organizational-based self-esteem and work engagement can provide potential implications for organizations in creating a supportive work environment that increases employee productivity and prevents problems and obstacles that arise in the organization.
