The Relationship of Academic Delay of Gratification with Academic Procrastination in Thesis Students

This study serves to see the relationship of Academic Delay of Gratification with Academic Procrastination in students who are writing a thesis. This study uses the Thesis-Writing Procrastination Scale (TW-PS) and the academic delay of gratification scale developed by Bembenutty (1998). The sample in this study amounted to 251 students using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used in this study was the Spearman Rank correlation test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistic 25 for window. The results of this study show a Corelation Coefficient value of -0.448, which means that there is a significant negative relationship between the relationship between Academic Delay of Gratification and Academic Procrastination in students who are doing their thesis. This shows that the academic procrastination of students who are doing their thesis increases, there will be a decrease in Academic Delay of Gratification, and vice versa, as evidenced by Ha being accepted and H0 being rejected.
