Psychological Characteristics of Shallot Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship is of interest to many because of its role in the economy, especially in creating jobs and improving welfare. In the agricultural sector, especially the shallot business is one of the fields that has great potential in the world of entrepreneurship. The shallot business has great potential, but faces challenges such as price fluctuations, competition, and limited capital. In addition to business strategy, entrepreneurs need mental readiness, such as the courage to take risks, resilience, confidence, and innovation to face obstacles and achieve success. This study aims to look at how psycholgical characteristics can influence entrepreneurial success in shallot businesses. This research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was conducted using in-depth interview techniques on an onion entrepreneur. This study found four themes and twenty-six sub-themes related to psychological characteristics. The results of in-depth interviews revealed four main categories: childhood experiences, life search after dropping out of school, transformation through entrepreneurship, and business progress.
