The Influence of Peer Pressure on Aggressive Behavior Among Students at SMP Negeri X Sijunjung

Adolescence is a developmental phase marked by significant emotional and social changes. During this stage, students are vulnerable to displaying aggressive behavior, one of which is influenced by peer pressure. This study aims to examine the effect of peer pressure on aggressive behavior among students of SMP Negeri X Sijunjung. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study involved 191 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The instruments used were a peer pressure scale and an aggression behavior scale, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The research results indicate a significant influence between peer pressure and students' aggressive behavior, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.062 indicates that peer pressure contributes 6.2% to students' aggressive behavior. The higher the peer pressure experienced by students, the greater their tendency to display aggressive behavior. The conclusion of this study is that peer pressure significantly contributes to students aggressive behavior.
