The Relationship Between Risk Perception and Work Safety Behavior Among Firefighters in Minahasa

High-risk jobs tend to have higher accident rates, and many things can influence this either from the environment or individuals, especially perceptions on behavior. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between risk perception and safety behavior in Fire Fighters in Minahasa Regency. The type of research used is correlational quantitative research, with a sample size of 64 subjects. In the categorization of data, it was also found that both in the risk perception variable and safety behavior the majority of respondents were at a high level. The analysis was carried out with a correlation test which showed a significance value of 0.002 (p> 0.05), meaning that there was a significant relationship between risk perception and officer safety behavior. Furthermore, the (R) value was found to be 0.385 and (R2) of 0.148. The conclusion is that although there is a relationship between the data studied, risk perception is not the main factor or predictor of safety behavior in firefighters.
