The Concept of Organizational Diagnosis in the Healthcare Sector: A Systematic Literature Review

The healthcare sector faces complex and dynamic changes that demand organizations, particularly hospitals, to continuously improve performance and adaptive capabilities. Organizational diagnosis serves as a critical approach to identifying internal conditions, including strengths, weaknesses, and the need for change. This study aims to examine the concept of organizational diagnosis within healthcare sector using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) mehod. Data were sourced from scientific articles in the Google Scholar and ScienceDirect using the keywords “organizational diagnosis”, “organizational readiness”, and “organizational evolution” combined with “healthcare” and “hospital”, within the period of 2021-2025. The inclusion criteria covered relevant full-text articles, published inIndonesian or English, as well as empirical studies or review articles. Articles that were irrelevant, unavailable in full-text, and opinion-based were excluded. Through the selection process, 10 articles were obtained and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results indicate that organizational diagnosis is influenced by internal factors such as structure, leaderchip, culture, and human resources, as well as external factors such as policy and environment. The Weisbord and 7-S Mckinsey model were the most frequently used frameworks in organizational diagnosis plays a significant dole in enhancing readiness for change, intervention, effecttiveness, and the quality of healthcare services.
